Daily Dose of Blackness is a Black youth-led and operated multi-media project and collective creating new conversations that centre the voices and experiences of Black youth. We are interested in talking to and with anyone of any age or any background, but DDB is designed to foreground the voices and issues of Black youth. In a time of growing white nationalism and outright racism, it is even more critical for Black youth to see their voices amplified and themselves accurately represented. More than that we believe it is essential to nurture Black creation, now and for the future, so that larger media landscapes hear Black stories and better understand anti-Blackness.

Daily Dose of Blackness came together in 2018 at our high school to discuss issues of anti-Black racism and build solidarity. We formed a Solid State co-operative in 2019 and we are building a three-part media project: a Podcast, a Youtube Channel and a website/online magazine.

From guest editing a Friday edition of The Star [link: https://www.thestar.com/opinion/contributors/2019/10/25/daily-dose-of-blackness-ten-racist-things-these-black-students-from-surrey-bc-are-sick-of-hearing.html], to being featured on the CBC radio program Now or Never [link: https://www.cbc.ca/radio/nowornever/the-kids-are-alright-1.5413161], we want to share our stories, about and to talk to Black youth. All too often Black youth feel isolated and marginalized in BC and the Daily Dose of Blackness is designed to centre and celebrate Black youth, our experiences, our joys and our struggles.
